May Updates

It has been a busy few months. My teaching partner and I put a school production together for our Founder's Day Show in February. We had costumes, music, dance, acting, with last minute substitutions when our George Washington character got ill.

I was looking forward to down time when my father passed away in March. His passing has been very difficult for me to handle because I depended on him. I called him frequently and always asked for his advice. My husband and son painted his living room to cover the smurf blue that was in there. We have participated in cleaning out his house and the yard sale.

We have two active children. Johnathan is in ice hockey class and loving every minute of it. He earned his bear badge and is now a Webelo Scout. He is doing really good in school this year and is counting down the days until school is out (19 days). He did a mission project this year and visited San Juan Capistrano Mission in April. He really enjoyed the guided tour of the grounds. He got a good score on his project. We are really proud of his good things he does.

Jenna is really trying to learn her abc's. She still does not want to ride a bike without training wheels on it (even though she doesn't need them). She will hopefully get a new bike before the summer starts.

Hockey

Johnathan played goalie for the spring season 2011. He learned that it is harder work than he thought it would. He ended up with a .62 average. It is only slightly below other goalies in the league. It was good experience for him. Plus the added benefit of him being tired was nice.

Dance

Jenna loves to dance. She had a lot of fun this year at Spring Festival. She has an artistic side to her. Watching Jenna is like seeing me in the mirror. She has a lot of the same interests I had as a child. She will be enrolling in a beginning dance class during August.

Santa Claus

Mommy called the North Pole and had Santa Claus visit us this year. We asked the Francis and Freeman family if we could meet Santa together. Our house was not ours yet and we needed a big place for the special visitor. Santa was jolly as ever. It is a time that Jenna will never forget. Santa came specifically to see her.

We visited San Juan Capistrano in April 2010 so Johnathan could write his mission report. Both kids really enjoyed there visit. Johnathan was up next to the guide the whole time asking very informative questions.

It had multiple layers of clay that took several days to dry. The boys had to put one layer on a day and let it dry. It was nice to see daddy and Johnathan working together.
