During of month of April daddy and Johnathan worked on a massive multiple day project. He had a miniature mission project to build. It had to be 10x10" project that included 10 features. He had koi in the fountain, a fountain, a almost perfectly to scale model of the old church and courtyard, archways, bells, etc. We used the packing from our t.v. to make the archways for the old church and lots and lots of clay. He had to put one layer of clay each night for a week to get the desired texture. It also included real dirt from Ontario that was grounded up and glued in place. We were all proud of the final product.
The highlight of the project was visiting San Juan Capistrano mission during spring break. He was asking a lot of questions of his tour guide and was enthralled by the experience of being there. He brought back a lot of good pictures of his trip. I personally think the best part was him learning to calculate things to scale and working nice with his dad.

Hockey
Johnathan played goalie for the spring season 2011. He learned that it is harder work than he thought it would. He ended up with a .62 average. It is only slightly below other goalies in the league. It was good experience for him. Plus the added benefit of him being tired was nice.

Dance
Jenna loves to dance. She had a lot of fun this year at Spring Festival. She has an artistic side to her. Watching Jenna is like seeing me in the mirror. She has a lot of the same interests I had as a child. She will be enrolling in a beginning dance class during August.

Santa Claus
Mommy called the North Pole and had Santa Claus visit us this year. We asked the Francis and Freeman family if we could meet Santa together. Our house was not ours yet and we needed a big place for the special visitor. Santa was jolly as ever. It is a time that Jenna will never forget. Santa came specifically to see her.

She was so surprised when Santa showed up at her friends house.

San Juan Capistrano
We visited San Juan Capistrano in April 2010 so Johnathan could write his mission report. Both kids really enjoyed there visit. Johnathan was up next to the guide the whole time asking very informative questions.
Mission Project - Finished Project
It had multiple layers of clay that took several days to dry. The boys had to put one layer on a day and let it dry. It was nice to see daddy and Johnathan working together.
